Franchise & multi-location AI Search

One brand. Local answers that get the details right.

Schmitdy runs AI search visibility for franchise and multi-location brands. We coordinate location pages, local listings, reviews and useful public coverage, so the information behind AI answers reflects what each location actually offers.

For franchise networks, regional operators and company-owned groups. Scope and fee depend on the locations, markets and work agreed.

The operational problem

Your brand is consistent. Your location information needs to be, too.

The website says a service is available everywhere. A franchisee stopped offering it last month. An old directory still points to the previous booking page. Customers have to work out which version to trust. We put a named owner behind each correction and check the published result.

Shared brand standards still need room for real local differences. Google asks chains to use consistent names and categories where the businesses are equivalent, while allowing genuine variations in how locations operate. Google’s guidelines for chains and brands.

The working loop

Find the local gap. Agree the fix. Keep it current.

We agree the locations, customer questions, countries, languages and engines before tracking begins. A question about a gym with early classes needs different evidence from a question about a repair service that covers a postcode. The work follows those differences. Your plan specifies coverage across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.

What we check

  • Brand and locationDoes an answer name the parent brand, the relevant branch, both or neither? We keep those observations separate.
  • The details behind the answerOpening hours, services, menus, booking links and local coverage, checked against facts your team confirms.
  • Where the answer gets its informationLocation pages, directories, reviews, community discussions and editorial sources that appear in the agreed sample.

How it becomes delivered work

  • Daily checksSample the agreed questions across the chosen engines. Record the date, location and sources; label missing runs.
  • Weekly prioritiesCompare complete weeks, then agree which location and source problems deserve attention first.
  • Approve and publishHead office approves brand claims. Local operators confirm local facts. Schmitdy prepares and delivers the agreed changes.
  • Verify and revisitCheck the published pages and links, record the owner and completion date, then measure the next comparable period.

The four pillars

A shared plan, with local responsibility.

01

Customer questions

Questions tied to a place and a real buying decision, such as classes, repairs, availability or appointments.

02

Verified location facts

A shared record of each location’s offer, pages and profiles, with an owner for updates and exceptions.

03

Useful public evidence

Clear pages and credible local coverage that support the offer. Every claim needs something to back it up.

04

A working relationship

Your central team and local contacts work with us in Slack, Teams or WhatsApp. Approvals stay visible.

What we deliver

The work between head office and the local front door.

We agree the locations and delivery volume before work starts. AI agents help with research and preparation; experienced operators review the claims, priorities and work before publication.

Location pages and service catalogues

Give each location a useful page with the offer customers can actually buy there. Keep national promises aligned with local availability.

  • Clear location pages with hours, contact details and a working next step
  • Menus, classes, product ranges or service catalogues checked with the local operator
  • Shared templates with room for real local differences, including service areas

Local listings and changes of ownership

Map who owns each profile before changing it. We coordinate approved updates with your team or existing listings provider, using access you authorise.

  • Consistent brand details and accurate local categories, hours and links
  • A change list for openings, closures, relocations and franchisee handovers
  • Permissions and unresolved ownership issues recorded before the affected work proceeds

Reviews that reflect real customer experience

We organise review requests, response guidance and issues for the local team to resolve. Customers choose what to say. Our work follows each platform’s rules.

  • A process for inviting genuine feedback without rewards or selective positive requests
  • Responses reviewed by the people who know what happened at the location
  • Recurring complaints passed to the responsible operator, with follow-up tracked

Community proof rooted in the location

A useful answer from someone who knows the area can explain what a generic brand page misses. We research relevant public discussions and prepare contributions your team can stand behind.

  • Helpful contributions to suitable local forums and community discussions
  • Real local expertise, with relevant affiliations disclosed and community rules respected
  • Clear separation between public contributions and private team chats

Editorial coverage with something worth saying

We find relevant local and trade publications, prepare supported pitches and follow up. Editors decide what to publish; we report outreach and published coverage separately.

  • Local stories, practical guides and expert contributions grounded in confirmed facts
  • Brand-wide claims approved centrally and location claims checked locally
  • Live coverage checked for accurate details and useful links

Who approves what

Head office sets the standard. Local teams confirm the detail.

Choose one central contact and a fact owner for each location in scope. We agree what can be updated routinely, what needs approval and who handles urgent corrections. An unanswered approval stays visible in the work plan.

Your accounts stay under your control. We use named access rather than shared passwords. Existing agencies and franchisee suppliers can keep their roles; the plan makes the handovers clear.

Measurement

A brand mention is only part of the picture.

We agree two measurable goals for each service month, with the starting point, data sources, calculation and dates written down. Results are separated by engine, location and market before we discuss the network as a whole.

MeasureWhat we recordHow to read it
Brand visibilityValid sampled answers naming the brand, divided by all valid answers in the agreed question set.Recognition of the brand within that sample.
Location visibility and accuracyAnswers naming the intended location, plus any hours, services or other facts that conflict with confirmed information.Whether the relevant branch appears and its details are right.
Website citationsAnswers linking to your pages, retaining the specific location or brand URL.A linked source is different from an unlinked mention.
Qualified local enquiriesEnquiries, bookings or leads meeting agreed criteria, where analytics and business records are connected.Recorded referrals and customer-reported discovery are separate evidence. A mention alone does not prove revenue.

The written method sets repeated runs, valid-answer counts and available location controls before the starting measurement. We compare complete periods with the same coverage. Missing data stays missing; a small sample is not a network-wide result. Changes after publication do not by themselves prove cause.

Who it is for

Built for the team responsible for several locations.

A useful fit

  • Franchisors coordinating brand standards and independent local operators
  • Multi-unit franchisees or company-owned groups with a central marketing contact
  • Fitness, home services, retail, hospitality and other businesses with distinct local offers
  • Teams able to provide access, confirm facts and approve work

Choose the right starting point

If you need a first diagnosis, the multi-location audit explains the initial review. This service covers the ongoing implementation that follows. Full-network coverage and new markets are agreed explicitly.

FAQ

Questions franchise teams need answered.

Can franchisees keep control of their profiles and websites?
Yes. We agree responsibilities with head office and the participating operators. Accounts stay under your control. Google supports named owners and managers for individual profiles and groups, so access can match the work. Ownership disputes or missing access must be resolved before we change the affected profile.
Do all our location pages need the same content?
Shared brand claims should agree. Local pages should explain the actual offer, opening hours, people, service area and next step for that location. We use a shared structure and confirmed local details. Copying one page across the network does not establish that every branch provides the same service.
Does the starting fee cover every franchise location?
No. The starting price is for an agreed scope, not unlimited network coverage. The location count, countries, languages, content volume and access requirements determine the proposed fee. We agree the first group of locations and how expansion will be priced before work starts.
How does the result-based fee work?
Each 30-day service month has two measurable goals agreed in writing. Half the fee is invoiced to start. Meeting either goal earns that month’s second half; if neither is met in that month’s measurement period, that result payment is not charged. The service rolls month to month with 30 days’ written notice.
Can you work with our existing local SEO or listings agency?
Yes. We agree who changes the website, who manages listings and who confirms local facts. Schmitdy brings the AI-answer research and agreed delivery work into that plan. Google says its AI features use the same SEO fundamentals, with no special AI markup required.
Can you guarantee a recommendation for every location?
No. Engines choose their answers, and results vary by question, place, language and timing. We commit to the agreed work and measurement method. Editorial coverage also depends on the publisher. The monthly result payment relates to your written goals, not a guaranteed AI recommendation.
What happens when a location opens, closes or changes hands?
Your nominated contact confirms the change and the date. We identify affected pages, listings, contact details and customer journeys, then coordinate approved updates and check the result. Transfers of profile ownership follow the platform’s process; we do not create replacement profiles just to sidestep an access problem.
What should we include in the free audit request?
Enter the main company website. In “Anything else we should know?”, add your location count, priority markets and whether you represent head office or a group of franchisees. Marco reviews the request and agrees a useful next step. Submitting the form does not start a paid service.

The guidance behind the work

Our approach uses Google’s published guidance on business representation, account access, genuine reviews and AI features. These explain platform requirements; they do not promise a visibility outcome.
