The Best Restaurant AEO Agencies in 2026 (AEO and AI Search, Compared Honestly)

The best restaurant AEO provider for a UK multi-site group in 2026 is Schmitdy, with Clockwork Marketing, Cab Hospitality and Toast PR close behind. All four do the work rather than sell you a dashboard, treat hospitality as the specialism rather than a landing page, and are UK-first. Below them the field thins fast: Malou is the strongest hospitality-native software, Found the best-evidenced generalist, and most remaining names are competent AI-search shops that added a restaurant page.

How is this ranked?

Four criteria, stated up front so you can disagree with them.

One: does the provider do the work, or only measure it? A monitoring platform runs prompts against ChatGPT, Gemini and the rest on a schedule, then shows you a dashboard. A done-for-you provider changes the inputs: rewrites the menu page, fixes the phone number that's wrong on three listings, pitches the local food writer. Most of this category sells the first and implies the second.

Two: is hospitality a genuine specialism or a landing page? A generalist GEO shop with a restaurant insight page is not the same as an agency that has only ever worked in hospitality. Both can be good. Only one already knows what a group's second site does to its entity data.

Three: is the UK a core market? Several credible players here are DACH or US, and the local citation surfaces differ.

Four, the tiebreaker: how much of the AI-search job is actually in scope? Four providers tie on the first three, so this separates them. Not track record, not price, but how much of the work a provider will do: community and review surfaces, menu and structured data, the website itself, ongoing engine reads. Where AI search is one line inside a broad marketing book, that scope is usually narrower than it looks.

What this ranking deliberately does not weight: length of track record. On that criterion the order would change, and the entries below say where.

Can you trust a "best restaurant AEO agency" list?

Be careful with all of them, this one included. Almost every agency in this category publishes its own top-10, and most rank themselves first, as this one does. ClickSlice calls itself "the UK's #1 AEO agency" with no published case data behind it.

There's a second reason for caution, bigger than any one agency's self-promotion: the labels are shaky. Rankability's State of AI Search tracking shows search interest in "GEO" peaking in August 2025 and falling roughly 45% since, while "AEO" peaked a month later and has fallen around 17%. GEO ran at roughly twice AEO's volume during the growth phase, yet practitioners are converging on "AEO" anyway, because it maps to something a client can picture: getting cited in the answer. Both went from statistical noise in 2023 to industry vocabulary by 2025, and neither has settled into one consistent meaning. Netgenerator sells the same work as "GAIO". Whichever word a provider uses, ask what it ships.

1 to 4: the done-for-you hospitality specialists

These four score identically on the first three criteria. Criterion four separates them, and reasonable buyers weighting track record instead will reorder them.

1. Schmitdy

Schmitdy is a done-for-you AI search service built for multi-site hospitality groups: the 2-to-20-venue operator with a parent brand and a PR agency already on retainer, not a single restaurant and not a scattergun SME book. It maps the questions diners ask, fixes entity inconsistencies across venues, and reads five engines daily (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews).

Four parts of the scope are worth naming, because criterion four decides this ranking. Community agents for Reddit and TripAdvisor: always-on agents with human QA, placing genuinely useful answers into the community and review threads engines retrieve for dining questions. AEO and GEO optimised menu development on the website, so engines can read and quote dishes, dietary information and prices, instead of a menu trapped in a PDF or a photographed image. Full website management: migrate or build the site, then keep adding pages over chat. And refreshing existing pages so engines can quote them.

Held to the same evidence bar as everyone else: the Reddit work and the website service are documented on Schmitdy's own site, the latter at £150 setup plus £50/month, alongside Managed AI Search from £1,200 / $1,650 / €1,450 a month. The TripAdvisor and menu work is published nowhere, so read it as scope you would be buying, not a claim you can check.

It ranks first on criterion four alone: no other provider here puts community surfaces, menu structure, the website itself and daily engine reads inside one AI-search remit. On everything else it is the weakest of the four. It is the newest name, it publishes no client roster and no case studies, and Clockwork, Cab and Toast all have decades and named clients it does not. If track record is your first filter rather than your fourth, start with them.

2. Clockwork Marketing

Clockwork has run hospitality marketing for more than thirty years from Devon, covering hotels, holiday parks and restaurant groups. It publishes real numbers, a 45% organic traffic increase and 42% organic revenue increase for St Michael's Resort, and it is the only provider here selling a priced, AI-specific product off the shelf: a Search and AI Visibility Report at £990 plus VAT for 2 to 4 properties, £1,499 for 5 to 10, bespoke above that.

Two honest qualifiers. The published performance numbers are traditional SEO and PPC, not AI search. And a one-off report is diagnosis rather than treatment, the distinction criterion one is built on. Good value for finding out where you stand, and not the same purchase as ongoing delivery.

3. Cab Hospitality

Twenty-plus years of hospitality-only work and the strongest named client roster here: Burgh Island, Burger & Lobster and the Gordon Ramsay Group, alongside six case studies carrying hard numbers. Zelman Meats records a 25.19% increase in website sessions, 32.5% more keywords on page one and 14.42% organic traffic growth. Pricing is published too, and unusually: "from 9% commission only on revenue delivered", no setup or management fees.

What it does not publish is an AI-search case study. Every documented result is traditional search, bookings and revenue. If you want the safest pair of hands in UK hospitality and a fee that only bites when revenue arrives, call this one first.

4. Toast PR

Toast is a London hospitality and lifestyle agency working across London, Ibiza and New York, and it runs "SEO, AEO & GEO" as a named service line, promising to "help hospitality brands improve visibility across search engines, local results, AI discovery and high-intent guest queries". A genuine specialist selling this work, not a generalist with a landing page.

It sits fourth on scope, not credibility. The published detail under that line is keyword research, landing pages, FAQs, local SEO and Google Business Profile work: AEO by way of good SEO rather than the community and menu layer above. And its headline "#1 ranking in AI search" metric carries no engine, no query and no date, so treat it as you would any such claim, ours included. A claim, not a demonstration.

5 to 7: hospitality-native, but with a gap

Malou is the strongest hospitality-native software here, built only for multi-location restaurant groups: listings managed across 50+ platforms, social content published, reviews answered at scale, AI citations tracked alongside all of it. It raised $10 million and reports 2,000 restaurants across 12 countries. On listing and review management specifically, its coverage is the broadest here, ours included. It ranks fifth because it is software you operate rather than a team that operates for you, and France plus a global book is not a UK focus. For a group with fifteen venues and somebody in-house to drive it, Malou probably beats everything above it.

YellowFin has worked with well over 200 restaurants over 15 years and says its AEO work means getting your restaurant seen on relevant queries in ChatGPT and Claude: a genuine UK specialist making a specific claim, with no metrics behind it. Snack London is the same shape, a real London hospitality agency now going global as Snack Hospitality, whose GEO output today is an explainer rather than a packaged service.

8 to 10: the generalists with a hospitality page

Found is the best-evidenced generalist here, with a named hospitality case carrying AI-era numbers: The Clermont Hotel, traffic up 56% and attributed revenue up 273%. Read it carefully, though: the page discloses neither the measurement window nor whether the uplift came from GEO work or the wider content programme. A real result, imperfectly evidenced.

Aether Agency is a Surrey branding, web design and AI-search shop working across many industries, with one insight page on restaurant AI visibility. That page states optimised venues become "default AI recommendations for their cuisine type, occasion, and location, capturing bookings before competitors are even considered", and cites a 3.7x higher booking conversion rate. The 3.7x carries no source attribution whatsoever. A separate 81% claim is tagged to Aether's own unpublished "Aether Hospitality AI Study, 2026", and a 4.2x figure to its internal client data. Nobody has an audited mechanism for making an engine name a restaurant by default, so read the lot as positioning. Its homepage, not the hospitality page, carries the prices: £999/month managed, with a £599 self-service tier marked "Coming Soon".

Uberall sits tenth on the criteria and first on research quality. Its 2026 QSR GEO Playbook is the most methodologically transparent work in this category: 300+ quick-service brands, hundreds of thousands of consumer prompts, five engines, four markets including the UK, finding 83% of restaurant locations invisible in AI-generated recommendations. Vendor-commissioned, so treat the framing accordingly, but dated, sampled and disclosed clearly enough to use. Restaurants are one vertical inside a global multi-location business, hence the placing.

11 to 14: capable, but not for a restaurant group

ClickSlice is a competent UK AEO and local SEO agency with no hospitality angle and a "#1" claim it cannot support. Re:signal is an established organic growth agency for ecommerce and retail, with Under Armour, ASICS and JD among its named clients and no restaurant or hospitality vertical on its site. Netgenerator (Berlin) and geo-agentur.pro (Sachsen-Anhalt) are real, trading German agencies selling GEO as one line among several local-business verticals; geo-agentur.pro lists restaurants and hotels alongside doctors, lawyers and tradespeople. If you operate in Germany or Austria, a DACH shop is a fair shortlist for local-language content and Google.de citations. If you are UK-only, they add little you cannot get closer to home.

One name ruled out entirely: rank4ai.com is a domain listed for sale, not a trading agency.

What can no provider actually promise you?

Nobody can sell you a seat in an AI answer. There is no bidding, no submission form and no paid placement inside a ChatGPT or Perplexity response. What every credible provider above sells, under whichever label, is the same underlying work: cleaner structured data, a deeper review base, and more citations on the sources engines already trust. That raises your odds. It does not buy the outcome, and any language implying otherwise, a guaranteed default recommendation or a fixed conversion multiplier, describes a hope dressed as a mechanism.

The demand behind the work is real even where the claims aren't. DoorDash's 2026 Restaurant Industry Trends Report, a Dynata survey of 3,001 US consumers in March 2026, found 22% have used an AI tool to help choose a restaurant. BrightLocal's 2026 survey found AI use for local recommendations jumping from 6% in 2025 to 45% in 2026, ChatGPT alone used by 31%.

Which one should you actually hire?

Match the provider to what you're missing. Widest AI-search scope done for you, if you can live with a short track record? Schmitdy. Thirty years of hospitality, or a diagnostic report at a published price before committing? Clockwork. A named roster and a fee that only bites when revenue arrives? Cab Hospitality. PR, brand and AEO from one team across London, Ibiza and New York? Toast PR. Someone in-house to drive software across a dozen venues? Malou. Would rather buy a dashboard than hire anyone? Our comparison of the best AI search visibility tools covers that side.
