Best Marketing Agencies for Restaurant Groups in the US, 2026: What Each One Actually Owns

TLDR: None of these six agencies owns every job a restaurant group needs, so hire by the job. Acquired Taste suits 20 or more locations needing paid media, CRM and loyalty together. WebFX runs search and paid media at scale. Hudson Creative handles location-level SEO. Breadth Marketing sells events and catering. JS2 PR owns openings and press. Schmitdy owns AI answers.

A US restaurant group that asks for "a marketing agency" is usually buying four different things under one name: attention for an opening, steady traffic to every location, repeat visits from guests it already has, and a place in the answers diners now get from AI tools. Prices below are in US dollars.

About 20% of US consumers now use AI tools such as ChatGPT to research restaurants and bars, against 26% for social channels and 24% for review sites, in a Nielsen survey of 763 consumers, run in August 2025 for Reputation, a reputation-management vendor.

How did we choose and check these agencies?

The shortlist is grouped by job and is not a league table. Schmitdy publishes this guide and sells AI-search work that competes with some of the firms below, so it appears as one entry and meets the same tests.

Each agency had to pass four checks:

  • Restaurant focus: its own site names restaurant groups or multi-location restaurant clients, or has a restaurant service page.
  • US market: it serves US restaurants and shows its prices in dollars where it shows prices at all.
  • A live site: its pages loaded on October 15, 2026. Firms whose website no longer loaded, or had been parked for sale, are not here.
  • A distinct job: it owns something the other entries do not, so the shortlist does not repeat itself.

We left out software platforms for reviews and listings, directories and consultancies that do not run the work. For each agency we looked for a public price signal, a named limit, dated scale, how the work runs and an independent source. Where a claim comes only from the agency's own site, the entry says so. Prices are public starting points in US dollars and exclude ad spend, production and extra locations.

What does each agency actually own?

Acquired Taste: growth, CRM and measurement for large groups

Acquired Taste logo

Acquired Taste, a division of Roger & Co with a Tampa address on its Agency Spotter listing, calls itself a growth agency for restaurant groups operating at scale. Its FAQ says it works with groups of 20 or more locations and names Bonefish Grill, Fleming's, Gordon Ramsay North America, Outback Steakhouse and PDQ.

It owns the whole performance stack. Paid search, paid social and programmatic run in-house, alongside CRM and loyalty programs and incrementality testing, which tries to show the visits the ads caused. Multi-location SEO and AI search visibility sit in the same performance service.

Its Fleming's case study, dated August 10, 2025, reports online reservations up 27% and revenue up 14%, organic and paid. Those figures come from the agency and carry no baseline. Agency Spotter shows one client review, 4.0 out of 5.

It publishes no price. The limit is its own: it says a single location is probably not the right fit. Ask what it would change in your first 90 days and which of those changes it can measure for each location.

WebFX: search and paid media at scale

WebFX logo

WebFX sells SEO, local SEO, paid search, social ads, web design and email, with custom plans from $3,000 a month. Clutch shows 4.9 out of 5 from 450 reviews, a $1,000 or more minimum project and headquarters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

It owns scale and reporting. Every plan includes its RevenueCloudFX platform, which tracks leads and campaigns in one place. Its GEO service also starts at $3,000 a month and uses its OmniSEO tool to track visibility across more than ten AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.

The limit is restaurant depth. Its restaurant page lists more than 187 food and beverage marketing experts, yet none of its three food and beverage case studies there is described as a restaurant. Its own multi-location write-up, published July 3, 2026, leads with Kampgrounds of America, a brand with more than 500 locations. Ask for a restaurant-group reference with a similar number of sites.

Hudson Creative: location-level SEO and websites

Hudson Creative logo

Hudson Creative, a New York agency, sells SEO, website development, digital ads, email and social media to restaurants and says it has served more than 210 restaurants over 11 years. Its showpiece is Patina Restaurant Group: 46 locations and brands managed, search visitors up 63.75% year over year and seated website reservations up 35%.

That work started in the first quarter of 2016, and the page calls 2020 the fifth year, so treat the figures as old evidence. A newer case study says ilili Restaurants grew drop-off catering orders by $250,000 year over year.

It owns the job of keeping every location page and listing findable in search. The limits: its six listed services do not include AI search, it publishes no price and offers a complimentary consultation instead, and its case-study figures come from the agency itself. A ReportGarden listing shows two reviews at 5 out of 5. Ask for a reference from a group of your size.

Breadth Marketing: events, catering and revenue programs

Breadth Marketing logo

Breadth Marketing sells three programs on its site: Private Event Growth, Catering Growth and Revenue Ramp, which covers dine-in, takeout, catering and events together. It aims at independent or multi-unit groups doing $4 million or more a year and says it has helped more than 1,000 restaurants.

Its multi-unit example is Padrino's, five South Florida locations on the catering program. Breadth's page claims 85% year-over-year catering growth, while a trade podcast from FSR Magazine, published August 20, 2025, headlines 85% in 90 days. Neither gives a baseline, so ask which figure is right and what the starting number was.

Clutch lists $100 to $149 an hour and a minimum project of $5,000 or more. It shows 5.0 out of 5 from three reviews, the newest dated July 9, 2021. The limit: none of its program pages covers AI search or local SEO. It fits a group whose gap is private events and catering revenue.

JS2 PR: openings and press

JS2 PR logo

JS2 PR, a Los Angeles firm founded in 2001, owns earned media: restaurant and product launches, brand partnerships, crisis communications and executive visibility, plus social and digital marketing. It claims more than 450 clients, 300 restaurant openings and 100 food, beverage and CPG brand launches. Trade press recorded a group client early: PRWeek reported on November 18, 2008 that Patina Restaurant Group hired JS2 as agency of record for its West Coast division.

Its FAQ says restaurant PR usually runs on a monthly retainer priced by the number of locations, the size of the market and the level of media outreach, and gives no figure. Clutch lists a minimum project of $5,000 or more and $200 to $300 an hour, with no reviews.

The limit: press placements build mentions but do not fix hours, menus or listings across locations, and its services page lists no AI-search service. Our guide on whether a PR agency should own AI search covers that overlap.

Schmitdy: AI answers and venue-level fixes

Schmitdy logo

We run Schmitdy, so read this entry knowing that. Restaurant AI Search starts at $1,650 a month, with half the fee due only when either of two measurable goals, agreed in writing before each month, is met. The Managed AI Search service it builds on has no minimum term: each 30-day month stands alone, and ending takes 30 days' written notice.

It owns the AI-answer layer. Every menu is rebuilt as a readable page, each venue gets its own page and record, and structured data, sitemap, llms.txt and robots.txt are repaired. Daily checks cover restaurant questions in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google, with a new 30-day plan each month. A senior operator is accountable, and approvals run in WhatsApp.

Google says AI features need no AI-specific text files or special markup, and that indexing and serving are never guaranteed. We therefore sell measured work, not a ranking. We promise no editorial coverage, and our pages list no paid media, CRM, loyalty, event or catering work. The fee rises with the number of locations and the amount of work, and no location cap is stated. Everything above comes from our own pages, and we cite no independent review of Schmitdy.

A team works through a six-question hiring checklist on a board before choosing an agency.

When is Schmitdy not the right choice?

Pick someone else when the problem is not in AI answers. A group opening a new city next month needs press, which JS2 PR owns. A group with leaking loyalty needs the CRM work that Acquired Taste lists. A group that wants one provider for search, ads and email at scale should compare WebFX. We do not run any of those jobs.

Should one agency run everything?

Rarely. Most groups pair a specialist for the biggest gap with a second supplier for the rest, and name one person who owns the facts for each location. Our agency brief for a restaurant group shows what to put on paper.

What does the fee cost, and what must it earn?

Take a 12-location group. The assumptions are ours, so swap in your own: 20% contribution margin on extra sales, a $45 average check and 20 agency hours a month for the hourly option, as an illustration (10 hours halves that total, 40 hours doubles it). Fees are the public starting points and exclude ad spend.

Fee linePer monthPer yearExtra sales a year to cover it at 20% margin
WebFX logo WebFX, from$3,000$36,000$180,000
Breadth Marketing logo Breadth Marketing, 20 hours at $100 to $149$2,000 to $2,980$24,000 to $35,760$120,000 to $178,800
Schmitdy logo Schmitdy, from$1,650$19,800$99,000

At $45 a check, WebFX's starting fee needs about 333 extra covers a month across 12 sites, or 28 a site. Schmitdy's starting fee needs about 183, or 15 a site, though its fee rises with locations. These fees buy different jobs, so the arithmetic tests whether a fee can be earned, not which agency is cheaper. Ask every agency to name the extra covers it expects and how it will count them.

How do you test an AI-search promise?

No agency controls what an AI tool says. Google states that indexing and serving are not guaranteed, so a promise of a fixed position is a warning sign. Ask instead for:

  • the diner questions it tested, with at least one that names your group and one that names a neighborhood;
  • the answers it observed and the sources they cited;
  • the page or listing it would change, and who approves the change;
  • how it will check again, and how it separates a mention from a booking.

Ask who owns your Google Business Profile group at exit. Google lets groups with 10 or more locations manage profiles in bulk, so the account that holds that group matters if you change supplier. For a UK comparison of the same jobs, read our UK restaurant marketing agency guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best marketing agency for a restaurant group in the US?

It depends on the job. Acquired Taste suits groups with 20 or more locations that need paid media, CRM and loyalty to work together. WebFX runs search and paid media at scale. Hudson Creative handles location-level SEO and websites. Breadth Marketing sells events and catering programs. JS2 PR owns openings and press. Schmitdy owns AI-answer measurement and venue-level fixes.

How much does a restaurant marketing agency cost in the US?

Few publish a price. WebFX lists plans from $3,000 a month, and Schmitdy lists $1,650 a month with half the fee due only when either of two agreed monthly goals is met. Clutch shows $100 to $149 an hour for Breadth Marketing and $200 to $300 an hour for JS2 PR, both with a minimum project of $5,000 or more. Acquired Taste and Hudson Creative publish no price. None of these figures includes ad spend, production or extra locations.

Which of these agencies sell AI-search services?

Acquired Taste lists AI search visibility inside its performance service, WebFX sells a GEO service from $3,000 a month, and Schmitdy sells restaurant AI search from $1,650 a month. Hudson Creative, Breadth Marketing and JS2 PR list no AI-search service on the pages checked on October 15, 2026.

Should a restaurant group use one agency for everything?

Only if one team can show named owners and recent results for every job, from press to paid media to listings. Most groups pair a specialist for the biggest gap with a second supplier for the rest, and name one internal person who owns the facts for each location.

How do I test an agency's AI-search promise?

Ask for the diner questions it tested, the answers it observed, the sources those answers cited, the page or listing it would change and who approves the change. Google says inclusion in its AI features is never guaranteed, so reject any promise of a fixed position.
